So is she airworthy again now? I seem to remember that she'd been in an accident a couple of years back. Hope she's flying again soon, if she isn't already. Thanks for posting the pics.

Cheers,
Richard

Shoot!

I have been building a 1/144th scale version of Miss Connie in her old markings.

Now I have to update her!

Not really a problem though. It consits taking off some stars and a yellow band around the waist.

The marking are sort of Lt Bill Fiedler of the 68th & 70th FS the only US P-39 ace. Looks like they used info I provided to Carl molesworth for Osprey's P-39 Aces book. Except they added the red spinner and tail flash and left off the white fuselage band. It looks nice but to really honor someone you need to do it right. :!:

Al,

Those pics look like they were taken at Breckenridge, were they?

Hi Alan, thanks for putting these up for me, nice to have a friend willing to help!
Jack thanks for the info on Lt.Fiedler, I was wondering about the paint scheme, do you happen to have a wartime photo of it? T.I.A.

Boy that is great to hear. I love the airacobra and it is a shame that more are not airworthy.Nose cases and gear drives are the problem. Not to mention props. :D

Taylor, currently two, Stephen Grey and the CAFs'. There are at least two or three that are currently under restoration to flying status "down under". The most advanced example probably being Gerry Yagen's P-39 at Wangaratta. Alan

Thanks Mr. Brooks! I didn't know they were quite that rare. Glad to see ours, CAF, flying again! Any word on the P-63? Is it flying?
