If I'm not mistaken, Jimmy Stewert(And the rest of the Flight crew on the B-36) wore one of those in "Strategic Air Command". I remember seeing crews wearing the olive green version around here(Maine ANG-ADC then SAC) and even down at Altus AFB(MAC) Okla. when I was In the USAF. So I hate to say it, but...............................................................................

i wqs thinking that maybe they might have been used by the b24 crews in alaska, but i have no info to support this.

i wish that i had a pic to show you but i dont. this jacket is a big , heavy sheepskin parka, very long and i suspect , very warm. it has the white undyed hide so i would think that it is from around 39' or 40'. unless they made them like that later on also. i guess you could say its in the same genre of a b-3 type jacket only longer, and totally different. i dont really know anything about the history of this style of jacket, so if ya do..................................... thanks!!

I think those collars were coyote not wolf, but I saw them on APs at Minot in the 70s

We have a B-7 parka in the collection that was donated by a pilot who flew in the Aleutians during WWII. I will have to check but I seem to recall that he flew the A-20. There was a matching set of flight gear that had that natural white overall finish trimmed with brown leather reinforcing strips. We also have the pants and boots but lack the gloves. I believe that the hood on the parka was trimmed in wolverine.
