A few additional bits of info:

Image
This was TB-26B s/n 44-34626 of the Mitchel AFB-based 2nd Tow Sqn, which suffered and engine failure on take-off. It was transferred to the 2500th Air Base Wing at Mitchel AFB on 4 October for repair and returned to service with the 2nd Tow Sqn on 18 April 1956; it was written off following another accident on 29Oct56.

Image
TB-25J s/n 44-30686 of Mitchel AFB-based 2500th Air Base Wing was belly-landed just south of the base on 25May53 following engine failure; it was recommended for reclamation the following day and dropped from the Air Force inventory on 09Sep54.

Image
C-46D s/n 44-77459 of the 374th Troop Carrier Wing suffered an engine failure at Tachikawa on 16Aug51; it was recommended for salvage on 21Aug51 and dropped from the inventory on 04Oct51, presumed scrapped.

Image
TB-25J 44-31013 of the 3575th PTW, Vance AFB suffered a bird strike 20 miles east of Covington OK on 15Oct51; it was transferred to the Mobile AMA at Brookley AFB for repair and returned to service with the 3500th PTW at Reese AFB. It was retired to Davis Monthan on 14Oct58 and authorised for reclamation there on 29Jun60.

Image
TB-25J 44-30978 of the 3575th PTW, Vance AFB suffered a landing accident at Vance on 10Sep51; it was recommended for reclamation and authorised for scrapping on 16Jan52. It was struck off the Air Force inventory on 19Feb52. It seems strange that the damage to this one appears at first glance to be less severe than 44-31013 above, yet was deemed to be beyond economical repair.

Two more:

Image
A-20J-35 s/n 43-21737 was apparently converted to an F-3A with the 155th PRS. It departed the US for 9th AF on 07May44 and was involved in this taxiing accident at Erbenheim on 06May45; it was condemned for salvage the same day.

Image
Douglas A-26B-1 s/n 41-39183 of the Melun-based 670th BS suffered this accident 2 miles north of Duclair (often mis-reported as “Duelair”) on 18 October 1944. It had departed the US on 04Aug44 bound for the 9th AF and was condemned for salvage on 28Oct44. (https://416th.com/MACR_AAR/19441015_41- ... heley.html contains incorrect location)

Final few:

Image
TP-38L 44-23813 had been transferred from the San Bernardino 4126th AAF Base Unit to Oxnard’s 441st AAF BU on 13Sep44; it suffered this belly landing at Oxnard on 13Feb45 and was declared ‘reclamation complete’ on 10 March.

Image
Ontario-based 443rd AAF Base Unit P-38L 44-24746 was involved in a mid-air collision with P-38L 44-24324 fourteen miles northeast of Ontario AAF on 20Jun45. It was scrapped on 02Jul45, as was 44-24324.

Image
P-38L 44-24489 of the 443rd AAF Base Unit at Ontario AAF seems to have survived this mishap on 25Sep45; transferred to the neighbouring 420th Base Flight it was sent to the RFC at Kingman on 25 October the same year.

Image
Another Ontario-based 443rd AAF Base Unit P-38L, s/n 44-24821 had this accident on 20Jun45 and was declared ‘reclamation complete’ on 02Jul45, which seems to have been a paperwork tidying-up day for other reclaimed/scrapped Ontario P-38s. The other aircraft in the collision (P-38L 44-24776, the fourth Ontario Lightning involved in a mishap on 20 June 1945) was repaired and later retired to Kingman.
