And I will take that beer as this summer has been a nasty one!

Meanwhile back in the northern hemisphere, Texas just got hammered with the worst winter storm anyone can remember. While you're down there sweating in your t-shirt, we were gaping in disbelief at ice covered roads right here at 28 degrees north latitude. Talk about Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. I'm 61 years old and have never seen an iced over road in my life, and it was my own street!!
PS: I'm with August - the WWI action and formations are especially astonishing to see. Thanks again for posting!

Pogo, I went to the CAF show at Midland in 2000. Expecting temperatures in the 70s/80s I'd gone with a bagful of t-shirts and maybe a thin anorak. It may not have been freezing but it was bl**dy chilly due to some unseasonal high over Montana or something. An emergency trip was made to Marshalls to get a thick sweater. Even the humming birds were sitting around shivering!
We'd flew in via an over-nighter in Las Vegas, and flew back via a few days on the West Coast - and a totally unexpected airshow at Chino, thanks Planes of Fame! Both were gloriously warm...
