Looks likely that this was a "FEW" mustang, now a kit supported and sold by Legendary aircraft. It has a small block 400 or 427 up front.

The pilot's name was Greg Jaspers, a retired Colonel in the USAF. Someone on here probably knows more about him than I, but I do know he was involved at Edwards somehow.

Well better late than never. I served under Col Jaspers while he commanded the 410th FLTS at AF Plant 42, Palmdale CA. He was far and away the most down to earth commander we ever had and was very well liked. Ironically, his call sign was "Crash". He is missed by many.
