IIRC, the Orion in Switzerland is an ex-Shell machine that was Jimmy Doolittle's mount for a while. I have pics of it when it was being maintained at Spartan Aero Repair in Tulsa in the 1940's. Would be fantastic in its old Shell scheme.

A sad end to two great lives (Post and Rogers). I read a great bio on Post several years ago. Always thought his other plane, Winnie Mae, deserved a place in the Milestones of Flight gallery at the NASM.

Should be there a year. You can see in the background of some of the Peashooter photos a timeline display with models. My model group contributed to that display. I have 4 in there (Osprey, B-52, MD-80 & SNJ). We also have display cases by the cafeteria that will have rotating Boeing themes every three months.

According to the museum's facebook page, the 787, the 747, the DC-2 and the B-47 are all under the newly constructed roof. Still to come the B-17, the B-29, the 727 and the 737. I will need to get out there and see this someday.

Almost everything that was outside is currently under the new roof. The Connie and 727 are in the parking lot and Air Force One is next to the museum. I heard there is a plan to do a Boeing Centennial lineup photo in the near future which is why the 727 and AF1(707) aren't in the new building yet.

I wonder what they have planned for the B-52 and the Comet?

The Comet will eventually join all the others in the new building and from a snippet from the latest museum newsletter, the B-52 will be shipped down and put on display behind the new building as part of a Vietnam Memorial park next to the Duwamish River.

If they plan on putting the B-52 in a Vietnam memorial, anyone know if they'll backdate it to Vietnam-era status?

IIRC, it's a "G" with Late 70s mods.
Since most of the preserved B-52s are "D"s in camouflage, I'd like to see a preserved natural metal airframe.
