C-46 and early B-17 main wheels - same?

Like the heading says... I've seen many photos of both B-17s (up to the early F model) and C-46s with main wheels that have 24 holes around the rim; are they the same or just similar?

IRRC They are not the same. Never heard they were in any conversations.
