Warbird Information Exchange

Hi All:

I occasionally see warbird listings showing Stallion Aircraft Inc, Bensenville, IL, as a previous owner. I was wondering if anyone here might know a bit more about this company, who the owners were, if it's still around, etc.? Just curious...I grew up in Illinios near Bensenville.

Stallion was owned by Jack Rodgers and is still being operated by his son Brett.
Jack had many warbirds including ;

Jack was one of the original founders of Air Classics in Sugar Grove Ill.
He was lost along with Bob Knoll in an accident at DuPage airport in June 1995

A few questions:

1) Is this Stallion at all related to the present Stallion down at Kissimmee owned/operated by the Lauderbacks? Did they buy the place or the rights to the name, or is it just coincidence?

2) When you mention the "founders of Air Classics", I assume that you are NOT talking about the magazine. What was this "Air Classics"?

I don't see that they still have the A-26. Does anyone have the registration for that one?

I also saw mention of Larry Matt. Is he still around?

It was listed on Courtesy Aircraft for a long time I don't know where it went or who has it now.

I was at the "Chicago Rockford International Airport" (RFD) in 2006. I saw a rather sad looking A-26 adjacent to one of the buildings on the east side of the airport. This past summer I was there again. I saw, from a great distance, an A-26 (possibly the same one?) sitting in a different location, away from the buildings. I recently mentioned this to a warbird pilot. He thinks he knows who owns it, but the name of the owner escapes me.
