Warbird Information Exchange

The P-82 was at first loaned to the CAF, then later on was given documentation so they could license and fly the aircraft according to FAA regulations. However, I have always heard from the "oldtimers" of the organization that the aircraft did have one stipulation. If at any time the CAF wanted to get rid of the aircraft, it would have to revert back to Air Force Museum ownership or be approved by the Air Force Museum. The other underhanded thing that happened was that the aircraft finally had some backing with both manpower and money and the CAF Headquarters "blindsided" the Squadron by trading out from under them. No notice was given to the membership of the CAF, much less the unit that was involved in it's restoration.

See what I mean. Don't mention anyhting that the CAF wants to do as we should keep that in a public forum, but sure let's go ahead and bash some museums. It is kind of getting out of hand with that. Gee I wonder why the large museums won't cooperate with some of the warbird crowd.
