About 4 or 5 years ago there was a recovery here in Washington, two Navy servicemen were found in a Dauntless just south of the Canadian border the crash happened in the early 40's. Some guy found the wreck years before that and was stealing parts and selling them on the Internet! While the servicemen were still in the aircraft  I know this because I talked with the crew chief of the Chinook who was in charge of removing some identification pieces to I.D. the aircraft.

>
> Australian Defence Force staff from the Australian High Commission in Port Moresby today reached an isolated site on the Kokoda Track to check reports that the body of an airman was located in the jungle canopy.
>
> No remains were located.
>
> While the location, near Kagi, is below a flight path that was commonly used by allied aircraft during WWII sorties, the find has been confirmed by ADF staff as a moss covered branch.
>
> It appears the branch has broken off the main tree and fallen across some vines, which from the ground, could have been confused with the body of an airman.

I suppose that's good and bad news. Good that it wasn't a body, but bad because that means a missing airman won't be returning home.
