hi all,

Kinda bummed that Geneseo is over with. Its like that every year once the show is gone cause Geneseo is the only thing I look forward to in the year. So right now I am just bored and feel like talking about casual stuff I guess. So I guess I will start talking about stuff. lol  No topic just whatever is on my mind.

I enjoy WIX. I wish my boards were as active as these are. I am an authusiastic person for the most part. Maybe its just me but some topics on WIX latlely haven't really interested me. I don't know seems like a change in tide with certain topics. I love reading all the topics but some just don't thrill me or show enthusiastic like I would like to see. I am not sure what I am saying just writting out whatever comes to my mind so bare with me. haha

Be cool to see a thread about all the B-17's still flying and what cool markings are yet to be painted on them. All flying are "G" models so its sad that no earlier B-17s could be represented. Although the Movie Memphis Belle is in a "F" model markings she is actually a "G" model. So I do like the markings on her but deep down I know its not an actual "F" model. My favorite models naturally are the earlier models. Be nice to see a B-17E fly someday. Or a B-17F/G in a mixed olive drab and NMF paint sceme. That would be cool to see.

I wish more people would make reproduction aircraft. I know many of us would like to see certain aircraft made. I also know some people look down on these repros. And that is totally understandable. I like them myself. But I see this as the only way to build up the population on certain aircraft. Seeing how its hard to recover wrecks this seems like the ulternative. If people have the money and willingness to do it. Just in my head right now thinking that it would be cool someone did a run of P-43 aircraft. I don't know why but that is the aircraft that popped in my head(remember I am writting about whatever thought comes into my mind). But then the fact I like the USAAC aircraft of the late 30's early 40's might be playing a part in that random thought I had. 8)

I love U.S./allied aircraft warbirds. But also wish there were more "axis" aircraft out there. Perhaps effort in these are somewhat of a lost cause. Parts are few, aircraft are few, and most are rare so many end up static anyway. And I am fine with that. Since I was a kid one of my goals was to see at lest one of each type of warbird fly. Naturally some warbirds are extinct...some like the B-36 we will never see fly again. Very sad thoughts when thinking about stuff like that. The closest I will get to those is reading in books and looking at pictures. I guess I can be happy with that.

Lets see....I love the old Army Air Corps with olive drab paint or NMF and have the star and red disk insignia. P-40's, P-35s, P-43s, P-26's all cool aircraft I have liked. Actually wished there is an airshow someday that invited aircraft that only had the star and red disk insignia on them. :D :P :!: :?:

I guess thats all for me today. So if anyone wants to add or speak their mind please go ahead. Random stuff sometimes is interesting to read.

Cheers and thanks,
Nathan

Hey nathan, there is always Oshkosh. If you want to go, I have a group of friends going over, and another warbird lover is always welcome.
