Here's some photos from an album in the RAAF Museum archive. Taken in North African, what you can see is what you get, I've no further details.
Should broaden the modeller's group build choices!
Crashed, wrecked and burnt out Dewoitine D-520. Probably Vichy French.
There are some interesting (French?) biplanes in the background of the shot.
Bent Hurricane. The broken back look indicates it probably arrived at a higher speed than it looks like. There's a hand from under the wing. Someone resting, or taking the final nap? The Hurricane's serial seems to be Z4165.
Miles Magisters in front of the Beirut terminal building
There's another photo of the Caudron (pre-crash) and a photo of the only middle eastern PRU Lockheed 10 painted in PRU blue - hope to bring those to you another day, as well as the usual postcards, sights, natives etc.
Bristol Bombay transport. It's not a mirage, it's skipping during the scan. Aircraft seems to have an '8' or 'B' on the side.
Secondhand Caudron Simouin.
Dewoitine D.338, F-ARIE was at Beirut in July 1941, and later was used mainly on the Damascus-Cairo-Brazzaville run. Note the Martin Maryland on the left. British or French?
All a bit out of the ordinary, hope you like 'em.
