N3NJeff,

Yeah I have a few MV's. The first vehicle I ever owned was a 42 GPW but my wife has claimed it as her own. Here is a shot of her (the Jeep that is) when we were working on a PBS special that was a lead in for the Ken Burns series: War. A bunch of the guys form the WWII Warbird Group came out and shot the 50 off of the Jeep. It was awesome to see these guys shoot the 50 for the first time in 60+ years.

I also had a 42 ford script project but I gave it to my daughter (the one with the twin 50 above) for her to learn on.

The vehicle that I love is a 1944 Chevy 1.5 ton M-6 bomb Service Truck. The one I was lucky enough to find was original and un restored stock WWII with only 13,000 miles on it.

Cool shot taken by Ryan Davis at Eagle Field

I am also in the beginning stages of resurrecting a 42 1.5 ton Chevy Turret Training truck. It is in sad shape but it is a real turret truck that I believe was at Las Vegas Gunnery School.

Here is a shot of what it will look like again…someday:

Here is a web page with more information about the project:

Taigh...I had to chuckle when you said that the scope is mostly used for single shot plinking. I think of plinking as sitting on a hill, shooting at groundhogs or gophers. A .50 cal would seem to make a mess of a gopher

Very nice plinker ya got there!

I always wanted a CCKW with the #7 bomb hoist set and have a 1820 in the back.

But one day I just may do that with a M35A2 and up the engine to a R2800 QEC off a B-26K

A 2800 A-26 QEC would be awesome in the back of an M-35. I have seen many A-26 QEC stuff available cheap and it wouldn't ba too hard to build a dummy R-2800 too.

How cool that would look!

I think I saw a post you put on G503 about the great find you made getting two of the sights on eBay. Well done!

Would you consider parting with one? Is there something you are looking for so I could entice you into a trade?
Didn't post on G503... I didn't know I was so popular! Probably some folks P.O.'d at me for getting such a good deal.

They need a little work, so I may mix and match parts at some time in the future. Nothing available at this time. Need the rubber eye cups and a case by the way if you happen to see any in your travels.

I think it would look great. It was going to be that or some UH-1 Blades. I know the QEC stuff is cheap for the A-26 but hold off on the search. I am down selling some stuff because I have moved to TN! I sold 2 deuces and I am trying to get rid of the 3rd so I can keep my 5 tons. Sucks that I am going to start over again but thats what I get for working in the airline industry
