So here we are on Friday, walking through hangar 2 a Duxford, when I spy Steve Hinton.
"Hi, Steve." Says I.
Then added, in my best
You sure showed THEM tone,
"And they said you wouldn't make it."
He said "How ya' doin?" but had a kinda' funny look on his face.
It wasn't until Saturday that I found out (from the other WIXers), that GG had an engine go FUBAR in Goose Bay and DIDN'T make it. OH CRAP
Now I understood the "funny look".
I was able to catch him walking past the TFC enclosure later on Sat. and called him over and apologized for, what he probably construed as a sarcastic remark at the time. I explained that I wasn't made aware of the engine problem that kept him from completing the trip until a few hours earlier. He was quite pleasant about it.
Oh well...
