Just who would you contact to get one built for you, anyways? Let's say I wanted a B-26 Marauder for the Kansas Aviation Museum, since Dodge City, KS was one of the Marauder bases. How would I go about doing it? Let's assume I couldn't build it myself for lack of space or other reasons.

(no, no, I'm not affiliated with the museum and no, they're not getting a B-26 as far as I know)

The folks who seem to have the most experience in this type of work would be MARC in California (Military Aircraft Restoration Corporation, 1195 East Belmont Ontario, California, 91761). You'd want to speak with Joe Krzeminski (909.923.3350) directly about doing a project like this.

They've certainly had enough experience - they've made lots of fighters (P-40s, P-51s, etc.) over the years but perhaps their most ambitious project was the B-24 Liberator they did a few years ago for USAF. One can see their handiwork on the Libby project at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas. If someone wanted a fibreglass B-26, these would be the shop I'd contact.

There's an outfit in my town that does all kinds of 3D mock-up stuff for theme parks, movie sets, shopping malls, etc. They've got a lot of photos on their site and do some pretty big stuff, so perhaps this project might be something they can handle. Check out "Dillonworks" website:
