Using more of Tom Roberts' donated the photos I have created Mystery Album #5.

You can find the album via...

EDIT: The photos have been moved to...
http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Travelogue.html#1983

I have no idea where these pictures were taken, but it looks like it was a good show. There were some CWH aircraft in attendance. Ideas anyone?

Teasers below.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Looks like 1988 to me, N17F is still in Fire Bomber colors and was making the rounds (wish she still was  ). I think it was repainted for the 1989 season, I never got to see it repainted.

Looks like some C-130 base in the background on some of the shots. Could it be Niagara Falls?

Tim, it looks like the civil side of Niagara Falls Airport. One of the WIXers was flying the Canadian Mentor so maybe he will remember.

N17F? Which B-17 is that one? I don’t know the former fire bomber colour schemes of the surviving B-17s.

Which Stearman is this one? …

The marking on the nose is "57" and the c/r might start with N597__.

Which Tiger Moth is this one?

Which Valiant is this one?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I think Tim means N17W... Bill Richardsons plane (at the time), now restored as the Boeing Bee in Seattle.

Thanks! So Mr. Richardson was the man behind Globe Air at the time?

Wow Boeing Bee! Now I know what Tim was so excited about.

No, Richardson wasn't affiliated with Globe from what I recall... I'll have to take a look at my copy of Scott Thompsons "Final Cut" tonight to give you the scoop. I think Richardson just bought the plane and it wasn't repainted until the filming of Memphis Belle when the studio applied the scheme to the plane.

I forgot to mention that is has been confirmed that these pictures are from the 1983 Niagara Falls Air Show. According the Waribrds Directory 4 that would make the owner Globe Air at the time. It didnt' go to Bob Richardson until June 1985.

Sorry about that typo, I should not try to work off memory for some things. I did mean N17W, thanks Ryan.

Here is a few shots I took at Griffus AFB in 1988 of N17W
