Ingham is actually an example of a (327 foot) "Treasury" class cutter. The Roger B. Taney (later Taney) was of the same class and is presently a museum ship berthed in Baltimore, Maryland (a long way from her berth at Pearl Harbor on 7 Dec, 1941).

Another of their sisters, the USCGC Spencer, was sold for scrap in late 1981.

I was on the Taney as well. I am really starting to love touring these old ships. Very cool.

Yeah, I unexpectedly had a chance to visit the USS Midway (CV-41) yesterday -- but unfortunately didn't have my camera with me.

I have to say it is about the most attractive setting for a museum ship I've ever seen -- berthed next to a public park in the heart of downtown. There were lots and lots of visitors -- a very good sign for her continuing survival.

The ship appeared in excellent condition and there were a surprising number of restored aircraft aboard (all Navy types -- not a Blackbird or a Concorde to be seen anywhere). My favorite had to be the newly unveiled SBD. I only wish they had included some information on the placards about the individual history of each airframe (where did it come from, who restored it, etc)

A display on the way out indicated that more planes are on the way -- including a Corsair and a Skyraider. They also say they are looking for an F4F and welcome suggestions. Considering they got the Dauntless through Pensacola, I suspect they should be able to take care of that too.

Great photos. I hope to tour BB64 USS Wisconsin at the Nauticus exhibit in Norfolk on Saturday.

I plan to get down there as well. My friend lives about an hour from there.
