This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Hypothetically speaking:

If the Enforcer design were to ever be consider in the future for for a COIN role I think the platform would change considerably from it's current form.

Please keep inmind that I'm a mere cretin when it comes to aircraft design.

I would imagine that the Enforcer would stretch to accomodate a 2 person crew. Pilot and Observer.

Also since it's a taildragger the weapons hardpoints are not parallel to the ground. Can bomb load equipment account for the angle? Or well all ordinance need to be manually loaded? One possible solution I can think of would be to have a taller tail wheel assembly, ala the F4U.

Perhaps modify the main landing gear design to a layout favoring the P-40, Skyraider or again F4U's gear. This would allow for more hardpoints aswell as a centerline hardpoint for fuel or what have you.

On a side note a guy who works with my dad, worked on the Enforcer program. He told my dad that the Wing Tip fuel tanks incorporate over 300 parts each. complex huh?

These are just minor brainstorming change I thought might have to take place if the Enforcer were ever to be competitive. I'm sure other system would have to be upgraded as well.
