I'm still laughing over the 'belly flop' bit....

I call foul. Clearly it wasn't a belly flop...there's not a diving board in sight anywhere.

Almost as good was the yayhoo referring to tbe B-17 fighter plane, wings still bristling with machine guns...I guess you could fit a buncha barrels along those wings.

Heckuva strafer...

I was going to keep the name of the pilot a secret to protect the guilty.
I work with Ed's brother. Both are fine men and outstanding pilots.
An attempt is going to be made to restore the aircraft. By the way, that aircraft that crashed is owned by Ed H. and it is the very aircraft he took his Naval flight training in, way back when.
(Hope I haven't divulged too much personal info).

I don't think you need to keep his name a secret...the only thing I think he was guilty of was making an OUTSTANDING recovery and landing under a very serious situation!

(His name was published in our local newspaper.)
