CAF blast from the past

Man, what a classic shot!!!! I'd have to say 1969? Is that the ex Mike Dillon P-40 N1226N? Leftys 38, Scatterbrain Kid, LB-30, man, what a line up! Is that the A-20 at the far left? Man.... Thanks for sharing!!!

Great photo! Let's see, both Texas Raider and Diamond Lil were purchased in 1967, and the CAF moved to Harlingen in 1968. So it's either 68 or 69 because Texas Raider was painted in the camo scheme in 1970 and Lil was painted in her current scheme in 1971.

I have never seen TR and Lil in these colors. I have heard about it but never seen it.

The white car in the middle is a '69 Cadillac Fleetwood, so at least '69...

I went back and looked at the picture and decided it was a little too yellow with age. So I put it through photoshop to make it look a little newer.

Can anyone name all of the Mustangs and who they belonged to? I believe the white one is Red Nose.

I will try to scan it again tomorrow. Its a pretty old pic..its that grainy 70's picture paper. So when I scan it..it doesnt look all that great. But I will try again.

Hi Vlado. It could I suppose. I'm fairly sure I've seen a photo of a 51 in those colors, but can't remember where I saw it. Now where is that Dick Phillips when you need him... The photo I have of N5073K is from 1965 at which stage it was white with a thin stripe om the fuselage. But then again they did change paint jobs a lot. My photo is not yet back from the photo lab, but I hope to have it by this weekend. Hope to have it in the mail by Monday!

Elroy. Grainy or not. It is always nice to see photos of the a/c I never had the chance to see "in the flesh".
