USAF AH-64 Apaches???

Tue Nov 28, 2006 8:11 am

Does the USAF operate a squadron of AH-64s?

I had heard this once before and blew it off, but I heard it again recently. Just wondering if this was true or not.

I've been off active duty now for nearly 9 years, but during that time I had never heard of any AH-64's being operated by the USAF (unless they've started operating them in the past few years).

Never heard of that one. The only possibility I can think of is some of the Hurlburt special ops guys being qualified to fly 'em.

Yeah I figured this was a White Whale, but figured I ask anyways.

The story I heard was that the Apache squadron was indeed a Spec Ops unit operated out of Japan. How that is supposed to work, is anybodies guess.

Ok thanks guys for the clearity.
