Seeing the CH-3B question & pic got me to thinking. I've tried inquiries everywhere else to no avail, so maybe here. Back in the 1990s, the Army had a couple of adversary helo projects. One was Hokum - X, which was to use modified Bell AH-1s as then - Soviet Kamov Hokums, (I found a pic or 2 of a modded Cobra, and Havoc - X, which would use ex-USAF HH/CH-3 Jolly Green Giants modified to resemble Mil Mi-28 Havocs. I understand both projects' mods were cosmetic only, but I've never found any info on the Havoc - X. Anyone here know any details? Maybe someone at Ft. Rucker back then?

There were quite a few bonafide Soviet type helicopters at Fort Rucker. I've not been there for over 10 years but they had at least one Hind-D (Mi-24) and Mi-8 flying when I was there. I think I saw an old Mi-4 tucked away in a hangar.
The OpFor units in Nevada (National Training Center)are probably your likely places to look for Hokum- and/or Havoc type mockups.
The Italian A129 Mongoose would do a pretty decent job impersonating a Havoc -- at least a better job than an AH-1.

The army has at least two Hinds, one is operational and called Warlord. IIRC

Back in the late '80s, they Army had a Hind - X program. ISTR sketches or photos of several helos from various manufacturers. Sikorsky had a modified S-76, Agusta proposed a version of their 109, & one of the better, IMHO, was Aerospatiale's modified Puma. A lot like the Hind A seen in the movie "Red Dawn", but with a Hind D nose. The best, tho, had to be Orlando Helicopters revamped Sikorsky S-55/H-19, converted to a fake Hind D! The end of the Cold War brought an end to these projects. I'd like to see where the Army helo aggressor programs would have gone.
