This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

With seeing all these pictures of various aircraft with noseart, does anybody have any pictures or recall seeing any noseart on Grumman S-2's while they were in military service. We have kicked around ideas of putting something on ours but we need to know if any had it before we do it.

I can't say about S-2s but the C-1A most always had artwork representing the carrier they were assigned.
The Forrestal's C-1 was the "Happy Hooker" and had a heart with a tailhook going through it. The Saratoga's C-1 had the Fighting Cock insignia. I'll post a photo of the Saratoga's COD which my step-dad flew tomorrow.
