This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Ollie,
That's a real shame... I had been really looking forwards to flying up in Panchito too. Oh well, there's always next year. It would have been fun getting together with you, Mike and the others though. I'd got those atomic fireballs for you too... ! Now what to do with them... are they legal to send through the post?
Cheers,
Richard

Aaaaahhhhhh.... Rats! I was just saying to Eric this past weekend that it is nice to have a show in my backyard, rather than having to travel multiple hours, booking hotels, etc....

This really bites,,and I had planned a double header at Carp that weekend...the only airshow that is 25minutes from my home...

Well that stinks...! As it happens I might not have been able to go to Carp this year because of work...but this sounds dismayingly like the announcement that came from the Hamilton organizers in fall 2001, and we all know how that turned out. I sure hope this is a one-year "hiccup"...

Disappointed to say the least!! But that's life I guess.
Anyone have any idea why the show has been cancelled?
I guess the only warbird actionin the Ottawa area for the rest of the year MIGHT be the BoB day ceremony at the CAM.
Anybody know the current status of SL721? Is it likely to be back in the air any time soon? Might it be ready for the BoB ceremony?

I spoke with Mr. Potter last week and it seems that Rotol had an extra prop assembly ready for another restoration that won't be done for about a year or so, so they let him have it and they can build up another unit for the other one in the meanwhile. He said that there was a good chance that it would be set to go within the next few weeks at most. Also good news is that the airshow insurance paid for the incident and took care of it right quick from what I hear... good to hear in these lean years of aviation insurance!

Good to hear Mr. Potter will be back in the air soon. As far as Ottawa goes I know I heard from a few acts that they did not get paid past year and were hesitant to go back. It is a shame as there are so few shows in Ontario this year.
Maybe next year they can get back on track. I know CFB Trenton will be holding an airshow next year but I have not heard any news on Borden.
Eric
