Oshkosh P-51 helmet cam movie

Hey guys,
not sure if anyone has seen this, but it's pretty cool. Ed Shipley's helmet cam from a p-51 acrobatic routine with Lee Lauderback. Not sure if it's from this most recent oshkosh or not. Also worth checking out is the hertiage flight and national anthem video. the anthem video seriously gave me chills watching it. very cool stuff. take care.

I watched this routine with the other members of my L-39 flight, and some F-16 guys. Amazing was the word that kept coming up. I mean, the guys were putting on a good show, nice and crisp, but when they went to close trail, well that was something else. Of course, it wasn't really close trail, as they were stacked right on top of one another. Sure, you can do it in jets, but we had never seen that with piston airplanes (that were swinging those big Ham Standard props.

Thanks for the link Brian! I love helmet camera's. I can watch any motorsport event from an onboard cam for as long as they keep shooting the video. I've run a wireless unit on my motocross helmet..it never gets old. One thing with acro video, it sure doesn't come close to the real impression of forces on mind & body during acro.

The way those guy's fly their planes(Shilpey, Lenoch, Beasley, Snodgrass) is nothing short of awe inspiring. Too cool. Almost forgot Laurderback.

Thank you for the kind words. My Mustang 'heroes' that inspired/inspire me are Hoover (everything he does in a 51 is inspiring), Pete McManus (he once did an OSH airshow where he demonstrated low level hammerhead turns, awesome) and Elliot Cross (did you ever see his low level inverted pass in the 51? low enough for a ribbon cut!).

Hey Vlado, Unfornunatly I'm to young to have seen any of those aviators in action but you guys are doing a good job of keeping that sort of flying alive and well. It keeps novice pilots like my self striving for perfection and keeps the dream alive of some day owning and flying a REAL airplane. Thanks for doing what you do every year. It doesn't get any better.

Impressive to say the least. The P-51 demo is really good, especially with the touch and go's with a roll.

The music for the first half of the film is apparently "Run Free" from Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. The music for the second half is from the "Band of Brothers" soundtrack.

Thanks buddy, but the second one is "From the Earth to the Moon". Similar to "Band of Brothers", but not as sky reaching if I might say.

Fair enough! I don't have the soundtrack for 'From the Earth to the Moon' and so cannot compare it to the music on the film.

The first one is definately correct though, I e-mailed to ask!
