Which B-17 is pictured? Texas Raiders?

Looks like "Texas Raider".

Thanks for sharing Chris...these pics bring back a lot of memories. Oshkosh 1977 was my very first air show and it had quite an impact on an 8 year old kid!

Yes, that's Texas Raiders - I think this was the last show it attended before it got its turrets and its current paint scheme. It was my first big airshow, too!

Which 25 is the one closest to the camera? I imagine the other one is the CWH example!

Chris--
Thanx much for the memory-lane stroll...those first few shots of the Texans actually look like Mt.Hope in the grand old "what's gonna show up this year?" days. I well remember the dapple-camo Tora Zero turning up at the Hope circa '79 and thinking "wow, a Zero"...There are actually three CWH birds visible in these pix, the Mitchell (pre-turrets, pre-nose art) and Corsair (just visible in two pix) which were theirs at that time, plus that Cyclone-engined "C-47"--actually a prewar DC-3 airliner impressed as a C-49 staff transport--which would join the CWH collection about four years later, in mid-1981. The Mitchell and Dak are still flying from Mt.Hope. So cool to see the silver "Saratoga" Skyraider which also came to Mt.Hope, probably that same year...and the XP-51, gleaming in the sun...those were the days. Geez: nearly thirty years ago now. Was the CWH Firefly at OSH that year by any chance? That was her last year; she crashed that Labour Day weekend at Toronto.
One query: What, exactly, is that Dauntless-like device in one of the last pix? Something about it looks "wrong" somehow, yet so much of it looks "right"...it has me baffled.

It went to Robs Lamplough in the UK, then Paul Raymond, then Charles Church. Next it came back to the US, to Cavanaugh, where I believe it is now grounded.

The Firefly wasn't there; I definitely would have gotten that one!

I wondered if anyone would catch that one - it was a 2/3 or 3/4 scale replica, like the WAR Aircraft Replicas FW-190, but I don't think they built it.

Thanks a lot. Have never seen photos of that plane in those colors before. Do you know if Florey is still flying in Europe? I think he was based out of Belgium some time ago!
