Mockup from "The Aviator"?

Wow, can't remember the last time I saw a Ford Monomotor.

Ford?

Where?

I wonder what's with the sawed off prop on the Antonov? Some kind of test? Maybe with "no wings" you don't need a standard diameter prop....

I understand that it flipped over before the present owner got it and the blades were clipped to get it into a container. Can't imagine with the excess number of these around now that it would even be worthwhile to do a project of this magnitude.

Thet're going to put pontoons on it and give airboats rides in the Everglades. A rednecks dream come true!

Not many everglades here in SoCal...

Have you ever known any rednecks???
Just a quick sail around the horn and you're home.

Ooops. Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, than to open it and prove the fact. :(

I didn't even look for the corrugated sides. Or anything else that would identify a Trimotor. My apologies.

They came in any color you wanted as long as it was red.

Nope.

Crap.

I have a lot to learn. Excuse me while I sit back and watch everyone here discuss. You can tell which engine a Sea Fury is running by which way the prop turns? Incredible.

As I said, I have a lot to learn.

They all turned the same way when they were built at least. :D

Centaurus with the 5 bladed prop (or in one case civilian modified using a "transport" Centaurus from the Blackburn Beverly and a 4 bladed prop) turns counterclockwise (anti-clockwise in Brit-speak) looking from the pilot's seat. The US Wright R-3350 conversions turn clockwise.
