Creve Coeur- Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum

A special thanks to Al Stix Jr. for showing myself and my business associates around the fantastic HARM collection. I have never seen such a fantastic collection of antique aircraft anywhere- clearly better than what the EAA Museum or the NASM has to offer!

And to top it off, due to occasional flooding of the airport, virtually every one of the planes is flyable so they can move to high ground when required.

Also got to see the turret parts collection! Very impressive indeed. The warbird community owes Al a debt of gratitude for saving this stuff (at his personal expense) which otherwise would have been scrapped.

Some very nice shots there. I believe that the Rapide is the only airworthy one in the US, with another near me (John Reed's one) being close to completion.

Creve Coeur is a wonderful place and Al Styx is a great guy (who has stories to tell that can go on all night!)

Good to Eric's Yale is getting some TLC.

Thanks for the nice comments. My father, Al Stix Sr is probably the one telling long stories. Although, I've been known to spin a few shaggy dogs myself. We can't help it, BS just seems to run in our family.

Great pic of the N3N. Is it flown alot???????? I would love to get dad a ride in one on floats. He got his sea plane rating a couple of yrs ago. He wants to put our N on the floats, but for us, its too impractical.............but sounds like fun!
