CAF West Houston Squadron Open House Sept. 16, 2006

Wed Aug 23, 2006 6:28 pm

I posted this in the events, but thought it rated a post here as well.
(Hope I don't get demoted...)

Commemorative Air Force
West Houston Squadron will host an Open House at West Houston Airport on Sept. 16, 2006

There will be revenue rides offered in their AT-6, and two members will be selling fund raising rides in their Fairchild PT-19 and Stearman PT-17

IF the BT-13 is operational it will be flying. The rebuilt N3N-3 engine should be back, but there is no way that it will be installed and flying in time.
There are many visiting warbirds coming so check the website to see the updates.

I was invited to the W. Houston days last year and had a good time. It's a nice airport, well kept, no tower hassles, but is under Class B. A good turnout of planes, friendly folks, and lot's of ride opportunities. One worth every penny was in the C-47 over the ship channel and around the Battleship Texas and the San Jacinto monument where Texas won indepedance from Mexico.
