Warbirds in Colombia?

Wed Aug 16, 2006 1:45 pm

There is a possibility I may be making a trip to Colombia this winter. Any warbird sites and museums in Colombia? What are the restrictions/hazards regarding photography in Colombia?

Mike, try this:

a.COFAC.FACIM.MUSEO_Cdte._Sección_Patrimonio_Histórico <facim.museo@fac.mil.co>

Mayor (Major) RAÚL EDUARDO GUTIÉRREZ GÓMEZ

Jefe de Patrimonio Histórico y
Director Museo Aeroespacial Colombiano

(Chief, Historical Patrimony and Director of the Colombian Aerospatial Museum)

COMANDO FUERZA AÉREA COLOMBIANA

[Colombian Air Force Command]

Fax (57) 1 222 2928- 222 2440

While conducting research on the Colombian Rawdon T-1s for Brad Pilgrim, I made contact with this officer.

He may not be there any longer, but the e-mail address should be good, and the same goes for the fax number.

Please keep in mind, that the museum is located in a military installation and you must request permission in advance, for your visit.

Once there, you will find that the Colombians are really cool guys.

Saludos,

Tulio

Mike, try the OV-10 Bronco Association site. There is Colombian contingent. The guys I met were very friendly and proud of their aircraft.
