I'm sure there are a bunch of similar videos on the web, but here's a link of video taken today (Sat 8/5) while the tour was at Akron. I gave my dad a ticket for his upcoming birthday, so needless to say, he was happy. The location was Akron-Fulton airport (KAKR) which is of course where thousands of Corsairs made their maiden flight from the Goodyear factory. It was a beautiful day!

This weekend is nice in Akron. Aluminum Overcast is at Akron-Fulton, B-17, B-23, and B-25 are comming into Akron-Canton (MAPS), and so is the P-38. I think the T-33 Red Knight is in our hanger right now too.

Rob and I arrived in the 25 today at MAPS....the 24 and 17 will be arriving tomorrow around 11....come on out and say hi!!!

OK so I'm not too bright. "skippyscage" how did you get the images from outside during flight? What were you in for those. Sweet pictures all the way around. Thanks for sharing them.

ha ha!

shots on ground were of the flight before I went up.

shots flying are of flights after I landed from each end of the runway - from the ground

Yeah, sure is nice to see the EAA bird up and flying again after all
its been through the past couple years... beautiful shots... what are
you using for equipment there? wonderful spin effects on the props..

without looking at the exif data I would hazard as guess at a shutter speed of around 1/125 or less

all the ground shots were with a Canon 24-105L and the flying with a Canon 75-300

yeah, the clarity is beautiful... hallmark signature of the L lense from
what I understand. I would agree on the shutter.. especially after
the lessons Airic and roger (and others!) offered me me at thunder!

btw... any shots of the P-38? did it fly this weekend or is it ground bound?

oh yes the L lens is very sharp - bear in mind the image has been resized and compressed for the web - the original quality is amazing - I can't say enough about the 24-105L - I love this lens - in fact it's hardly off the camera these days.
