Canada's Newest Warbird

Andrew, Ollie and myself were in attendance today at the CAvM to witness the last time a Labrador hellicopter would have air under it's wheels. CH-113 s/n 11301 put on a short, but nice display ending with a bow to the crowd of about 200+. After landing it taxied to parking space in front of the crowd, and shutdown its engines. It was quite a moment. No one said a thing, not one peep, until well after the blades stopped turning. Whooooooosh..... whoooosh.... whoosh.......... then nothing.

A nice fitting end to a very respectable machine.

Ollie will likely be posting pics tonight. I'll take my into the lab tomorrow, so maybe I will have some shots to show you later in the week or on the weekend.

Regards,

Mike

Now is the Labrador basically a Canadian built Ch-46 optimized for SAR or is it a different enough aircraft to warrant it's own section in the Helo Registry?

Nice shots Ollie! I especially like the one with the flag in the foreground. Glad to see you finally made it to a WIX event.

They are from the same "family" as the "CH-46".
