Another NWM / Wings of Eagles Bird for Sale

Tue Jun 27, 2006 9:13 pm

Looks like Courtesy Aircraft is listing the NWM/WOE museums C-45 (formerly the blue JRB "007") for $55,000. That makes four planes they have or are selling: B-17, PBY, DC-3 (R4D), and the C-45.

Is there going to be anything of interest left after all is said and done?

Hi Ryan--

Hm, it does seem as though WoE/NWM will soon be down to just what's there on loan! (Some of us felt like that locally when CWH readjusted its mandate...happily we gloomy Guses were largely wrong, though there will never again be a flight of big-dollar piston fighters based at the Hope like there once was.)

Wonder if some way could be found to bring old "007" home to HAG? That airplane was almost an icon at Gennie. I wonder how many A2A photographers did their first Warbird shoot from that Beech?

Ryan
have you heard if the PBY has moved to the Island yet? PatM have you heard????

This is the first I've heard of the DC-3 being sold (I think). What is the story on that?

It is sad to se ethe museum slowly lose it's aircraft. I can't help but think what might have been if it stayed at Geneseo. :(

I haven't been over to the museum in Farmingdale lately, but I definately have not seen a PBY over my house. I'm sure we'll get some info next weekend.

Hmmm, looks like this C-45 may have headed back to Geneseo! Looks like a match too me.
