Coast Guard Aircraft History Cards

Tue Mar 11, 2025 12:17 pm

Does anyone know where to obtain copies of United States Coast Guard aircraft history cards? I know that the Air Force Historical Research Agency has Air Force record cards, the library at the National Naval Aviation Museum has Navy history cards and the National Air and Space Museum has some of both, but I don't know where the Coast Guard record cards are.

A year ago, I emailed the Coast Guard Historian's Office and the National Coast Guard Museum, but I didn't hear back from either of them. I did hear back from the Coast Guard Aviation Association, who passed me along to the Chief, Office of Aeronautical Engineering, United States Coast Guard and he said he would look into it, but I never received a reply.

I know there was someone on WIX with the username "CoastieJohn" that seemed to be someone who could help, but he hasn't posted since October 2022 and I couldn't find any contact information or enough detail to try to identify him in real life.
