Minden Air P-2s

Sun Jan 26, 2025 10:20 pm

I seem to have lost track of two former Minden Air SP-2Hs, namely

(148344) 55 Lockheed SP-2H N355MA seen Minden Apr01-Mar17
(148357) 48 Lockheed SP-2H N4692A seen Minden Apr01-Jun14

Neither seems to be at Minden any more.
Does anyone known what happened to them please?

The late Geoff Goodall's site notes that:

N355MA landed with left gear retracted at Minden 3.6.12. Edit: https://asn.flightsafety.org/wikibase/320923
N4692A suffered a nose gear collapse landing at Fresno 16.6.14. Edit: https://asn.flightsafety.org/wikibase/320505

My assumption would be they were subsequently scrapped...

Yes, thanks, that would be my assumption too, but looking for some confirmation.

Partially answering the question, and with thanks to a tip from Roy Blewett, a dismantled P-2 can be seen on Oct20 imagery, sitting at 39.00585, -119.75669.
The tail marked 55 can be seen lying on the ground, making it N355MA.
