Douglas A-20A with Auxiliary Liquid Rocket Motors - A report from June 30, 1942 covering tests of a Douglas A-20A modified with liquid rocket motors in its aft nacelles to improve take off performance. This is a GALCIT report produced by Theodore von Kármán, Frank Malina and other engineers associated with Jack Parsons, the infamous rocket pioneer and occultist featured in the CBS series Strange Angel and the book by the same name. Parsons does not appear to be mentioned or pictured in this report, indicating he may not have been involved with this project or that his role was downplayed due to problems he was having with his security clearance due to Parsons' flirtation with Marxism in 1939. The report includes 15 pages of drawings and photos, with detailed images of the rocket motor installation.
