Looking for a part for a United Tractor Shop Mule

I'm a volunteer at LSFM in Houston.
Looking for a part for one of our tugs.

United Tractor Shop Mule
Model SML-120-C
SN: 13761

Need: Ref #10 Arm & Ball Assembly, Steering. (connects steering box to steering linkage)

PN: 40352

I have posted this on the WIX FB page, no luck.

Have contacted several companies that sell tug parts but no luck yet.

If you think you have something I can email pictures of the [part to compare (don't know how to attach picture here anymore).

Have you tried any of the Military Vehicle forums or the MVPA?

A lot of guys have esoteric collections, there is probably a tug expert or two out there.

Finding that part is probably like finding a needle in a haystack that doesn't have a needle!

I wonder if it could be repaired/welded/brazed? If not for service, to serve as a pattern for a foundry to make a copy from?

I know of Cattail Foundry in Gordonville, PA and Windy Hill Foundry in Morton, MS that have done odd one off castings for various parts for mechanical antiques such as steam tractors and whatnot...

One of my fellow volunteers might be able to weld/repair it. I have emails out to several companies that sell used tug parts. Maybe I get lucky.

Did find where United used both Hyster and Caterpillar steering boxes, and Hyster used quite a bit of GM stuff....

As to pouring a new one and machining....way expensive....like by the time you are ready to install, you'd have well over a kilo buck into it. You would be better off either converting to totally hydraulic steering, or adapting some truck steering parts to make it work. A friend of mine that used to overhaul and update tugs, converted almost everything to Sheppard steering columns and Saginaw boxes.

Looks a bit like a Ford part. What is the inside diameter of the splined feature and the distance between the two holes?
