About the last photo..
That substantial brick hangar still exists at Felts Field in Spokane, Washington (Felts is one of the oldest operational airports in the country).
It is now used for aircraft maintenance training by a mission aviation group and is in very good condition.

There are two painted relief emblems of the WA NG's (not ANG then) 116th squadron emblem (as seen on the O-38 biplane) cast into the front of the structure.
The 116th still exists and is a ANG unit flying KC-135Rs out of nearby Fairchild AFB.

I don't know what the Y1B-17 was doing at Felts, perhaps it got weathered in on its way back to Seattle, its crew deciding not to cross the Cascades.

I have an original print of the photo in my collection. A great shot of an early Flying Fortress.
