Did anybody notice 2 fighters over the DFW area East to West just South of downtown Dallas flying super sonic? No lie, I heard the sonic boom.

Were they heading towards Crawford? Generally, U.S. Military fighters can't go supersonic outside of a MOA or restricted area unless there is a National Emergency - i.e. - responding to a threat to the POTUS or ex-POTUS's or a sensitive area (i.e. Washington D.C.).

I'm pretty active in the DFW aviation community and this is the first I've heard of it. We were flying, too, I think.

They were about 10K/15K heading East to West. If they were headed to Crawford, they would have passed over my house heading South.

Did the local media have anything?
If you are not mistaken, a lot of other people would have heard it and called the news rooms to ask about it. People aren't shy about complaining or claiming damages.
You could also call the base they might have come from or JB Carswell (or whatever they call it) and ask the command post.

Over recent years in the UK we've had several instances of Typhoons going supersonic overland while en route to intercept wayward aircraft, lost comms, bomb threats, even at least one drunken and abusive female passenger aboard a 737 engendered an escort back to Stansted. The sonic booms usually hit the headlines as startled tax payers contact the press/police/soothsayer.
Only time I heard what I think was a sonic boom, it was a faint double crack coming from out to sea while i was on a Cornish beach aged about 12. Rationalised it as a Concorde on a test flight though it could have been military.

Growing up in San Antonio in the early 60's, I always heard sonic booms all the time. Maybe it was just a chance to go fast, even I put the hammer down in the Cessna 140A occasionally and while wishing for the need of speed...

I doubt it would fit the media agenda but it did catch my attention.

Take it from me, a career Air Force public affairs officer (turned TV news guy), it is
always part of the media agenda to:
a....Make the military look bad
and/or
B....respond to the many calls they get from the public by following up on them whether they are legit or not. Even "friendly" media will do that.
I had to call my former office a time or two.
