Eureka! Re: Ex-Cambleford CF-116s / CF-5s

I was refreshing one of my photo albums, the one with the Freedom Fighters, when I noticed something interesting. The CF-116 at the Canada Aviation Museum is in agressor markings with the large red numbers "63" on the nose. I never paid any attention but the CAF s/n for this airframe is 116763! Hmmmm.... Coincidence? I think not!

If I then make the assumption that CAF CF-116s in agressor markings used the last two digits of the serial for the agressor numbers, then the CF-116 that was at the Memorial Military Museum in 1998 with agressor markings and number "30" was in fact s/n 116730. It was a single seater.

Does anyone else have a photos of CF-116s in agressor markings to help proove this theory? Eric maybe?

Mike

P.S. That still leaves at least two other CF-116s at Cambleford in 1998 that were painted in started dark camo markings, both of which I don't have any IDs for since both were missing the vertical tail where the s/n is usually marked. Oh well... some day.
