This looks really great! The story is excellent and Travolta is involved so hopefully the film plays out really well - looking forward big time to this one! AND - please excuse my spelling!

At best it's a short story; I assume this is a 'short' rather than a movie.

Looks like 38 minutes.

Saw the poster for this earlier on FB and the vampire has lost a boom.

HA - that is a riot - somebody somewhere in the art department thought - oh planes have ONE tail! - and no one really thought twice about it until it was too late. . .

Thankfully, the movie trailer plainly shows the appropriate tail configuration, throughout. The poster illustrator just did not get the word, and knew not the slightest thing about doing some research beforehand.

This is an all time favorite short story (NOT novella) of mine. Judging from the trailer, looks like production values are pretty high.

They used a very real flying Vampire when filming so it's just a weird design choice!

I'll bet it was a passion project for John Travolta. The guy eats, sleeps, and breathes aviation.

Too bad they couldn't CGI out his beard, though, and give him a more appropriate RAF style mustache. (Joke!-- Really looking forward to this one.)

Agreed! Hell of a nice guy, everyone in our FBO had nothing but nice things to say about him and his crew during the time he was based there filming a movie.

Warning: Almost Total Digression.

This thread triggered memories of N6878D, the Vampire that Mr. Travolta once owned.

Stumbled into the following during this morning's coffee (half-hearted apologies if posted elsewhere LOL):

Review - SPOILER ALERT -
So I gleefully watched it and, honestly enjoyed the short film. Of course a lot of the dialog the pilot has in his head as he realizes how SOL he is cannot be expressed, they do portray the anguish as best as can be I think. Once he makes it back to "RAF Minton", the story departs somewhat from the original - I wish they had stayed more true to the original work BUT - it does add to the Christmas "ghostlyness" I suppose. I would give it 7 or 8 out of 10.

The story is good, CGI terrible.

Fascinating how you can tell they actually filmed a flyable Vampire, but also had to it shoot day for night. AND then add in a starry night sky. For a 38 min short that Disney decided to make for $5000, it's not bad. Agreed the story did take a slightly unexpected turn at the end with the second whammy of a ghost revel. But I thought it sort of helped the story a bit more. Anyone know how they shot Travolta's scenes? Did they actually use a runnable Mosquito somewhere? Or just a mocked up cockpit?
