The theme will be "Famous Fighters".

We get it. You don't like the format. Lots of folks don't and they stay away instead of coming here every year and whining about it.

I think for alot of us here, since their is direct access with some of the big wigs at YAM with (Like Mike here) it is the hope that through us showing our general disappointment with where this event has gone, that we might have some influence and see the show return to a more traditional setup from a few years ago. I'm not saying loose the entire drive in format IF some guests prefer this setup. Geneseo has been doing a hybrid of the two. Offer a tailgate option AND a regular airshow crowd area for chairs and whatnot. But I do also think the two show system Thunder has been using should be scrapped.

Have a report from members who were at meetings, that YAM officials got "many" positive reviews about the format. Have not heard any positive comments from anyone! I think it has to do more with $$$ from two shows a day, more than phantom reviews from showgoers!

If they only poll the ticket holders of these revised format shows, they are missing those who voiced their discontent by not attending. Can we go back to the days where the temporary cement factory and speaker placement were the only real grumblings with the show?

The theme aircraft for the 2024 THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN Air Show will be the F-16 Fighting Falcon!

Interesting featured aircraft considering the corresponding display team looks to be scheduled to be at the Arctic Thunder Air Show and Open House in Anchorage, AK...

Between the format and the modern featured aircraft, it seems TOM and the YAM have really let the World Class Vintage Warbird status slip away and become more of a ho-hum generic regional airshow. Such a shame as there was seemingly so much potential with the bomber factory, the B-17 gathering, and the Luftwaffe theme (that we got robbed of!)

It is the same weekend as arrivals for Oshkosh so perhaps some Oshkosh bound warbirds will hang around for the weekend and then fly up to Wisconsin.

I dislike the morning/afternoon show arrangement too. I like the drive-in format though. For all those that do not like the two part show, write to Yankee expressing this. I did, sending a letter to Ashley Myers <ashley.myers@yankeeairmuseum.org> in the PR department. In case you are wonder, I did not receive a response back thanking me for my comments. My comments are below.

Disappointingly, I am no longer able to attend Thunder Over Michigan. I have attended regularly since 2009, except for 2022 (I had a complimentary ticket from you, but the weather forecast nixed attending). Why am I no longer able to attend, it is because Thunder Over Michigan has priced me out of the market. I cannot justify spending $100 for a 2-hour air show, let alone double for all day, just for myself and my tag along wife (she does not share my interest in aviation and comes for company), which also includes a 6-hour round trip drive.

The drive-in concept was a good idea to have a show during COVID. Outside of the box thinking.

It is disappointing that you have priced people, a regular attendee, like me out who are unable to get a group together to split costs with.

To see an air show now, I am going to start volunteering by putting my previous air show line crew experience to use at a small local area show.
