P-51B 43-6877 "The Stars Look Down"

Wed Aug 30, 2023 1:48 pm

I just learned about this aircraft and it's flight where it carried Gen Eisenhower over the Normandy Battle front on July 4th, 1944. Even more ironically I just learned that the Collings Foundation is having American Aero reconfigure their 2 seat C model into the 354th FG scheme of P-51B 43-6877. The most recent update I could find was from 2020. Does anyone here know the status of this project?

She looks fantastic! I thought Collings would have had this 51 and the FW-190 at Oshkosh this year together.
