This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Sentimental Journey is airworthy once again. It has been grounded by an FAA AD since June 1 while awaiting FAA approval of the method used to conduct a mandated inspection of a component in the wing attach structure. It received the FAA blessing yesterday (Friday) and is now enroute to join the CAF Airbase Arizona Flying Legends of Victory Tour. Presumably, it is enroute to join the tour at Rock Springs, Wyoming. This makes the second B-17 that is in compliance with the FAA AD, the other being B-17G 44-8543 (Ye Olde Pub) based at Madras, Oregon.
I added an update post at aerovintage.com:

SJ has always been my favorite B-17 and it is really pretty and they keep it very well polished. Glad to see there is one and maybe soon more flying again.

Fascinating. I would have thought disconnecting and reconnecting a wing would have taken 2 or 3 weeks.
