I would assume that the aircraft suffered a hydraulic failure of some sort. I used to fly tankers out of K Falls and the runway is almost embarrassingly long. Of course that’s assuming that the F-15 touched down somewhere in the first 1/3 of the runway. At least they got it out of the canal.
I lost the brakes on landing in a B-17 once and it’s a truly helpless feeling. No matter how long the runway is you can never get the airplane to stop. My copilot finally had to heave a wheel chock through the front entrance door and against the left main wheel before we finally stopped rolling. The F-15 pilot did manage to avoid going into the approach lights.
