This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

Canadair built CF-5D, reading through the comments it's surprising how many people didn't know there were two seat F-5's or think that it's a T-38.

Dutch and Norwegian F-5Bs were quite regular attendees at British airshows in the 1970s and 80s - usually if there was a single seater present, a twin-stick would be too!

I'm with ya, digi-flage at 1st glance looks like a mistake but can grow on you after a while. I think the main association is with Russia, another reason why it seems alien.
I imagine it is a nightmare to apply.

There are many things in life which are guaranteed: a photo of a late-standard B-36 will always draw the comment, "six turnin and four burnin"; a photo of an early F-4 will usually elicit "F-110?" and a pic of a 2-seat F-5 will render arguments about there being no two-seat F-5s. Oh and the image of an F-86H-1 will usually prompt replies that the author has mis-labelled an F-86F photo.
It's human nature.

Related, this F-5 is up for sale:
https://www.aviatorsmarket.com/detail/a ... tates/7080(I'll miss seeing it, but I've also missed seeing his MiG-17, so hopefully he'll be giving it some flight hours)

Related question, I believe the owner of the MiG-17 and F-5 is the same guy who built his local aviation component manufacturing business from nothing, and has enough money to afford both those warbirds, as well as other toys.
Could never figure it out - is he just an incredibly adept businessman? Or did he have some kind of inheritance or other windfall that backstops his company and flying? I assumed the inheritance and windfall, but was never sure.
I grew up around the area, and was always curious.
