Help on identifying NAS WW2 - TBFs in flight

Hello,

I am asking for assistance on identifying which airfield this is in the US (assuming NAS) - there are over 30 TBFs in this picture but have not been able to figure out where this is - any insight from this group would be greatly appreciated. Would be roughly 1943 to 1945 time frame. thank you.

There is a very distinctive airfield on the top part of the photograph also

It looks flat, FL perhaps. A larger photo would help.

was able to find this field on-line - it is NAS Fort Lauderdale.

I agree that the main field is Fort Lauderdale, the canal is a good indicator, with the photo taken looking almost due west, and propose the field in the background is Forman Field, with a distinct wagon wheel layout. Now totally overbuilt.

I guess I didn't notice it was the wagon wheel style. I just noticed another "field" in the distance. Pretty cool.

I concur that it is indeed NAS Fort Lauderdale, FL. Refer to Shettle's book "NAS's of WWII Vol 1" pg. 78-79. This NAS had two OLF's: North Pompano and West Prospect.
