Aadu Karemaa Mustang 44-12119 N119VF Status?

Tue Dec 06, 2022 10:59 am

MustangsMustangs has ramp photos of a complete looking aircraft from 2006. I'm wondering if the aircraft ever flew post-restoration and if Karemaa still owns it. The FAA indicates the tri-ennial registration is current.

I remember it flying, looking just like that when I lived in San Diego. That was in the early/mid 1990's.

I have seen this plane twice. Once in Karemaa's hangar in San Diego while being built, and once a year or so later when Chuck Hall brought it up to Chino for Don Sakamoto to do some prop work. Don't think it has flown for quite some time though. Seem to remember photos of it at the San Diego Aerospace Museum Annex at Gillespie Gield.

The last time I saw this Mustang was at the Gilespie Airshow back in 2006 or so. I talked to him briefly, he owns a hotel or two and said the Mustang was his daughters inheritance...kinda tongue in cheek but not.
