The article doesn't have much in the way of information, but there was a teaser photo that isn't in the article, but it looks like possibly a gear collapse.

it looks like the wing was scraping the asphalt before the plane went into the grass... so it kinda looks like a gear issue.

I didn't notice any gear oddities on Sunday at the show...

Looks like the engine was shut down, preventing shock load, which is good; also looks like the gear trunnion didn't rip out or punch through the wing skin, which is also good.

Obviously it's not great to see her damaged, but if you HAVE to have an incident, it's good to see it wasn't more serious.

I thought the same thing. A much better situation than the last gear up which had extensive damage. Damage seems minimal and I bet it will be flying very soon.

I just heard about this. I grew up less than 10 miles from there, and took off from the same runway in both Collings bombers and a P51D (among other older types) in the 90s.

The extent of the damage and finances will dictate that. Does the CAF have a serviceable spare engine and prop in inventory?

When the gear folds like that I often wonder if that wing spar is bent - especially at the root - or the wing otherwise damaged/bent such that it has to be replaced. That's a lot of weight supported by the wingtip, on a long lever arm. Lots of force in the drag direction too.

"Our P-51C Mustang Tuskegee Airmen experienced a runway excursion at Tallahassee International Airport on November 4th around 2 p.m. Only the pilot was on board, and no injuries were reported. AirCorp Aviation will arrive Wednesday, November 10th, to recover the aircraft and take it to Bemidji, MN for repairs. Cause of the accident and extent of damage is yet to be determined.
