Lysander Airshow -- Pilot's View

Sat Oct 30, 2021 8:07 am

Here's another in my series of flying-with-commentary videos, in a Westland Lysander, from an airshow last month.

It's interesting to design and fly a sequence that displays the aeroplane well, and safely, that is more than just fly-bys.

I am delighted that you seem to enjoy making these videos. Because I am always delighted to watch them. You have a real talent for 'content', as your vids always leave me feeling contented. Cheers to you, sir, and thank you once again!

I stand to be corrected but I believe that when you retard the throttle it automatically brings the mixture lever back into rich with it.

Correct. On the Harvard and Yale (and presumably more British & Commonwealth types) there is a spring loaded catch on the throttle lever that pulls the mixture lever next to it to rich when you bring the throttle back to idle.
